Creating a Will is the first and primary step in creating an estate plan. Establishing an estate plan will provide you with peace of mind knowing that your loved ones will be protected in the event of your death. Our office would be happy to meet with you, provide you with a consultation, assess your needs and goals, and work with you in developing a Will that suits your particular needs.
What is a Will and why should I have one?
A will is a legal instrument that allows you to designate beneficiaries that will receive assets and property in the event of death. Without a will, Pennsylvania’s estate laws will dictate which of your heirs will receive your assets and property, which can lead to unintended consequences. With a will, you will be able to specifically designate which beneficiaries receive your assets and property.
An executor or executrix would also be named in the will, who will be responsible for carrying out the terms of the will by distributing property and assets according to the instructions of the will.
